“Game Piece” 12’ bronze on the N4 motorway between Kinnegad and Mullingar, Ireland. (2005).
The N4 sculpture is almost complete and is based on an archliogical find which was dug up in the area surrounding its site in Coralstown, Co. Westmeath, Ireland. The object was a viking period bronze and bone board game piece which I saw in the National Museum of Ireland where some of my own work is also on display. It was the design of this object that I thought most striking . The original is about an inch high whereas the N4 one is 12 foot high.
